Back on Nym Lake
The crossing of Batchewaung Lake was a bit weird with some triangular swells in the middle, but the boat is seaworthy, and the wind did not pick up too much, so I made it back to Nym safe and sound, where the wind was kind.
Overall, a great trip. Makes me want to come back and take a month-long look at some of the lakes farther south. Weather was not too hot. Rained only at night. Had tailwinds most of the way. I appreciated the lack of signage in the park, keeping things natural, and applaud the work of the maintenance crews, especially on the portage from Elizabeth to Sturgeon where mighty pines had fallen.
The Souris River boat was easy to paddle and lift. Losing my single blade skills, though, by using a kayak paddle all the time heheh.
A great trip I will remember for a long time.
